"Hi my name is George, Falmouth is such a great place and I had the best time while studying there for my degree. However my bit of advice is to 'look before you leap.'

In my second year, after downing a bottle of Cognac with my mate Tommy, we decided to head down to the pub. There were building works going on so we took a short cut through the building site. Tommy jumped over a fence while I jumped a wall and ended up pencil jumping 10 foot into concrete. This was the result.

I spent 6 hours in surgery, 3 weeks in hospital and 6 months on crutches. The doctor said I had been lucky. It's now been over a year since this accident and I still have problems with nerve damage, loss of feeling in my foot and discomfort in Winter due to a metal rod inserted within my bone.

I suppose what I am saying is have fun, take risks especially with your work, but there are some situations where it is worth remembering to look before you leap."
